Over the years of its sovereign history, Belarusian athletes have achieved excellent results at the most prestigious international tournaments: the Olympic Games, World and European championships. This is largely due to the great work of the Sport and Tourism Ministry, President of the National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko said during a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of the Sport and Tourism Ministry, BelTA has learned.
The NOC president emphasized that all workers in the sports industry, from technicians, administrators, coaches, and doctors to the minister, honestly fulfill their challenging tasks and contribute to the achievements of Belarusian athletes. Viktor Lukashenko stressed that the National Olympic Committee has always worked productively with the Sport and Tourism Ministry, and this cooperation yields positive results, which will continue in the future. Sport and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk also noted that all sports bodies in the country are working with full dedication so that Belarusian fans can celebrate the successes of Belarusian athletes on the international stage.
Over the past three decades, the Sport and Tourism Ministry, together with the National Olympic Committee, the Presidential Sports Club, and sports federations, have traveled a complex and remarkable path, filled with great victories, important transformations, and significant contributions to the development of the industry in our country, Sergei Kovalchuk emphasized.
The leaders of the NOC and the Sport and Tourism Ministry presented certificates of appreciation, letters of appreciation, and valuable gifts to the best representatives of the sports industry: honored coaches, doctors, and veterans of Belarusian sports.
